About Nelson PTA

Who We Are

Parent Teacher Associations (PTA) are school-based organizations with the primary goal of making the school a better place for children to grow and learn.  This is done by local community parents working together with the educators to develop relationships, and to volunteer in classes and raise money for needed school equipment, supplies, and other activities.

Why Join PTA?

The Nelson PTA is funded via its membership fees, events and special programs.  Fees and donations collected give parents the opportunity to be involved in supporting their student's education and the PTA mission without necessarily committing time to help in classrooms or with after-school programs.

Your PTA Membership dues support the organization at the school, state, and national levels!

For more information on the benefits of the PTA, we encourage you to visit the National PTA as well as the Texas PTA websites.
